WESTSIDE TULE ENTERPRISE COMMUNITY

This Central Valley Enterprise Community is part of 57 federally designated entities throughout the United States which USDA has targeted for special assistance and funding.  Westside Tule Enterprise Community (WTEC) was established in 2004 with the following partner communities: Coalinga, Five Points, Huron, and Tule River in Porterville.  Each community is represented by their own Community Based Organization (CBOs) representing each of the geographical areas that WTEC serves.

WTEC is charged with serving very low and low income persons to form grassroots organizatiosn that seek to respond to their community’s needs and goals.

Westside Tule Enterprise Community currently has USDA Rural Development funding to help its CBOs accomplish their strategic plans.  The WTEC empowerment program expires in 2009.

The mission of the Coalinga Enterprise Community is to empower the residents of the area to create a better future for themselves and their children.

FIVE POINTS - Crossroads of the Westside

The focus of the Five Points Westside Housing & Economic Network is to develop strong partnerships for the community.

HURON - Empowering the Community Through Education

The vision of the Huron Enterprise Community is to create a one stop center that will empower its residents through education, technology, and community projects.

TULE RIVER - Bringing Industry to Our Community

The primary purpose of the Tule River Economic Development Corporation is to encourage and develop economic development projects for the Tule River Tribe; to engage in any and all economic activities; and to provide opportunities for income generation, management, training, and employment for members of the Tule River Tribe.
